Job Summary

A Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting passengers along designated routes, adhering to schedules, and providing excellent customer service. This role involves operating buses in a variety of settings, including public transportation, schools, or private services, while ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safe Driving:
  • • Operate the bus safely along predetermined routes, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, checking for any maintenance or safety issues.
  • • Maintain a clean and orderly bus, ensuring all safety equipment (such as fire extinguishers, first-aid kits) is functioning properly.
• Passenger Assistance:
  • • Pick up and drop off passengers at designated stops according to the schedule.
  • • Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, especially elderly or disabled individuals.
  • • Provide information to passengers regarding routes, schedules, and transfers.
• Safety & Emergency Procedures:
  • • Ensure all passengers are seated and doors are securely closed before operating the bus.
  • • Monitor traffic and road conditions to adjust driving as necessary for safety.
  • • Handle emergencies or unexpected situations calmly, such as mechanical breakdowns or passenger incidents, and follow proper reporting protocols.
• Record Keeping:
  • • Maintain accurate records of trips, including passenger counts, fuel usage, and any incidents.
  • • Report any accidents, traffic violations, or mechanical issues to management immediately.
• Compliance:
  • • Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to passenger safety and transportation laws.
  • • Adhere to scheduled timings and maintain punctuality on routes.
